Browse the web again in Mac OS 9 (Sort of…)

If you have an old Mac that still runs Mac OS 9 or Mac OS 8 and there’s absolutely no hope of ever upgrading to Mac OS X, then all is not lost. I mean sure, your web browser on your old mac can’t display web pages properly, but the solution is obvious. It was under your nose the entire time. The solution is this: If the webpage has a mobile version, switch to that. It will render properly on your out of date web browser on your out of date Mac. Sure, it won’t look as nice, but its better than not using your precious mac.

Some guy was able to tweet on twitter, check his gmail, and other stuff in iCab under Mac OS 9. Read about it here: System Folder

By the way, that’s my iBook Clamshell with a 300 MHz PowerPC G3 processor with 576 MB of RAM and running Tiger.

Wow! Old school! I have a computer just like this one, same color too. And it actually does run os x- I had to buy a battery for mine though… Just a quick question, you say ‘no hope of ever upgrading to Mac OS X’ but the picture appears to depict an os x environment?
