The long awaited iOS 4.3 software update finally has a set date. There was rumors that iOS 4.3 was gonna be released in December, but guess what? They were just rumors. I almost forgot, iOS 4.3 will be available for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, 3rd Generation iPod Touch, 4th Generation iPod Touch, iPad and iPad 2 (iOS 4.3 will be installed by default on the iPad 2.) Did I forget to mention any devices? Well for the devices that I “forget” to mention are no longer supported. iOS 4.2.1 is the last version for iPhone 3G and 2nd Generation iPod Touch.
Also, coming out on March 11 is the long awaited iPad 2, with… you guessed it, Facetime camera! In time, Apple will release an iPad version of iMovie for the iPad 2. (If you have a 4th generation iPod Touch or an iPhone 4, you can purchase iMovie.) But unfortunately the iPad 2 will not have a retina display like the iPad’s siblings. The iPad 2 will be able to use something called “Smart Cover”. The iPad 2 has magnets on its frame, and the Smart Cover will align perfectly with your iPad. When you remove the cover, the iPad wakes up. Pretty neat huh? If you go to apple’s site on the Smart Cover, there’s a little interactive where you can “drag” the Smart Cover from the iPad. Check it out yourself.
